Fun while it lasted!

This morning, for an hour, it snowed with abandon…

By the way, Frellnick and Polly are now inseparable, and doesn’t Frellnick look  proud?  I guess their little honeymoon in the back yard did the trick…

He doesn’t take any guff off of Georgie now!

  1. how great! maybe those deer were bolting because they knew the sky was about to start falling!

  2. We were out walking in it… At times it was sleeting pretty hard and I gotta say, it stung a little. It was still beautiful though. :-)

    • Yeah! We had the sleet first, and then the snow. And yes, it was beautiful! Bob said, “It’s official; Winter is finally here.” :)

If you wouldn’t mind, could you send some of that up here? You’ve got more white on the ground than we do):
And SO glad to hear there’s peace in the barnyard!
We never had any on the farm, so thanks – I really enjoyed learning (from everyone: ) about Goosie Habits!

  4. no, no chickens don’t like snow.. great that Frellnick and Polly make friends..

    • Ha-ha! At least mine have an awning to cover their run, and yes, I am very pleased about Frellnick and Polly! Thank you, Chantal. :)

  5. Well, the groundhogs all seem to be in agreement today, so you may have seen the last of your snow. (Or not! – those groundhogs are tricksters!)

    • I hadn’t even thought about that rascally groundhog, Linda. HA! Our weather has been so screwy that it may well have fooled him!

  6. Ha! The sky done bad but you done good! Frellnick hasn’t got anything to prove to Georgie now :-)

  7. Yay for Frellnick! It looks like the sky was trying to throw ready-made snowballs.

    • Yay for Polly! I thought she had chosen to be a widower for the rest of her days. That is a lotta days for a goose as I have read they can live to be 30 years old!!!

  8. You sure are getting a lot of weird weather Lynda! I’m so happy Frellnick and Polly are an item now. Love is in the air just in time for Valentines!

    • Yes, our weather is very strange, everywhere, or so I hear tell. I hadn’t thought of P and F in terms of Valentines, but you are so right! I hope there will be goslings in our future, but you just can’t be certain in a first year male. We’ll see!

  9. I don’t think my comment went so here is another. Nice photos and oh my the snow. I am glad that it is your snow and not mine. :-)

    • Well, since you didn’t want it anyway, then I’m glad it was ours also!

The storm only had an hour, so it really put its power into it! :D

  10. I love the red hen saying ‘the sky is falling’ – I always loved that story! :D

  11. Sounds like your chickens are smart enough to know where “warm and dry” is. Taking cover from the cold wet snow sounds like a good idea to me.
It snowed here for about an hour this morning too,and then it stopped.
Didn’t stick to the roads and barely covered the grass. Which is fine with me. Too cold to want to shovel a driveway!

    • Where we come from if you want snow you have to drive up to the mountains to get it…
You and every other lunatic in the greater Pomona Valley! (California)

We had about 8 inches here, a couple of years back, and I nearly went nuts after about the third day! I liked up till then, but after that, well, enough is enough! :D

  12. It’s a regular Peyton Place in your backyard! I wonder what will happen next?

    Nancy

    • Actually, I was going to post about this today, but there were extenuating circumstances…
Hence, today’s post will be tomorrow. :P
