It is Official: we made them an offer they couldn’t refuse

Yeeeee-HAAA!

OUR OFFER ON THE APPALACHIAN FARMLET WAS ACCEPTED!

Can you feel my excitement?

Soon the antiquated barn with ‘good bones‘ will be fixed and those horse shoes on the wall will be the first and easiest thing done…

I will have to nail them all facing up so all the good luck doesn’t run out.  ;)

And I simply must make friends with the pygmy pony too.  I think I will grow  carrots just for him!

  3. Yippee! Congratulations!

  4. Lynda, that really has made my day! Deep breaths now. Lots to do but it seems you have time on your side.

    • Yes! Thank you, Annie, we do! The current owner needs time to empty the house of all of it’s contents… and trust me, the little house is jam packed! So, the closing won’t happen until April the 2nd. ;)

  5. Lynda-
congratulations and cant wait for the updates!

  6. Hooray!! So happy for you!

    YaHOO! CONGRATULATIONS LYNDA AND BOB!!!
I had a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach when I first “looked” out over the valley with you… Just KNEW that this was going to happen… “Whoop, whoop!” (Can you see me jumping with joy for you?:D
Oh my God, this is just wonderful!
BTW, it should be pretty easy to imagine a serene vista… You’re drifting to sleep on the hint of a breeze, listening to the buzz of the cicadas; while sprawled on the cool ground, in the dappled shade under one of those lovely old (maple?) trees this summer…
Oh! But first – although those feathery boards can wait for a bit longer, you’d better get a couple of nails into that loose piece of roofing on the (nearest?) corner of the shed (before some errant gust of wind gets under it; ) Gotta protect your investment (NOW THAT IT’S YOURS!!!! *squeals of joy*) Oh, wait, got an old movie clip running through my head… Click your heels together three times and repeat after me: “There’s no place like home…”

  8. Yay! Looking forward to your process of moving to your new home!

  9. Oh my goodness. So happy for you! There’s gonna be so much room for everyone. I wonder if the feather kids can feel your excitement?

    • You know, Anita, I am certain that Buddy was feeling it. He ran donuts around the back yard when Bob got home tonight. He never has done that before!

  10. YAAAY, so glad for you!!

  11. Oh thank goodness, now I can type with fingers uncrossed.. i am thrilled and really that barn is beautiful.. and I am so so glad that it is you getting to live your dream, you truly deserve it! wonderful wonderful news! c

    • I must admit, I was more worried about you walking on your crossed toes! ;)
Thank you, Celi, I’m so glad that you can see the beauty in a 70 year old barn. I am already working on a plan to fix it… Starting from the roof down. Once I get it cleaned out, making sure there are no rats in it, I intend to spend a night in the hayloft! If I like it, I may just rig up a permanent hammock and mosquito netting! :D

  12. Oh this is SO EXCITING! Fantastic news. Lynda – I am so happy for you guys!

  13. Congratulations! No one likes to move (at least no one I know does) but I’d say the excitement if where you’re going makes it well worth the effort. I’m looking forward to reading all about it.

  18. I just can’t tell you how happy I am for you. I was glad to see that April 2 date – that’s reasonable, and there’s clearly plenty for you to do between now and then. ;)

Have you ever seen any of the quilt barns? There’s a tradition around the country of women putting huge painted quilt patterns on the end of their barns. Jus’ sayin! Do a google image search for quilt barn and you’ll have enough to keep you drooling for a while!
