Photo Friday: if you feed them, they will come

I waited a long time and had begun to think that the birds were just not going to visit my bird feeder this year.Β  Then one day last week Bob and I went out to get into the truck. I heard hundreds of birds and looking up into the giant oak tree over our driveway, I saw some of them there…

“Oh look Bob!”Β  I said with excitement, “They’ve come back!

To which he replied: “@#%$&^# BIRDS!”

Not understanding his response I put down the camera and…

Then I saw what had raised his ire!

Oh dear.

How hilarious!! I love this post… typical day on the Farmlet, eh? We have had many winter birds this year, and I have photographed many of them. I just haven’t had time to write a post since I’m galavanting around after Daisy much of the time. We keep a feeder stocked with seed and I participate in the Oklahoma Winter Bird Survey each year. I love springtime when they are busy building nests and raising their young… then come the hatchlings and fledglings! So entertaining!

Well, I had been missing them quite a bit! I had a bird feeder by our dining room window and I loved to watch them eating. Then the cost of bird seed went up dramatically. From $14 per bag to $26 per bag!!! I stopped feeding them. But this winter I couldn’t take it anymore so I bought the bag and paid the exorbitant price! Then they didn’t come for over a month and a half. Now all of a sudden last week PooF! They were back! Love those birdies! ~ L

Oh if only there were, but we live on a one lane, dead end, country road. However, I think it may be seasonal. But really, the truck needs a washing and this will be a no fail, good excuse to get him to do it! Can’t be seen going into town with the truck looking like that now can we? πŸ˜‰

So how about that? Go on; say something!
