  1. Ok you made me laugh!! awesome! c

  2. Glad that story had a happy ending!

  3. Hi,
Very nice photos, I am amazed at the bird hanging upside down, we don’t have woodpeckers in Australia, so the only thing I know about these birds is mainly from what I have seen on the net, but that photo has blown me away. :D

  4. It’s good to have a window that looks out on such fine pictures.

    • You know Tom, that was one of the biggest deciding factors for choosing this house. It was the views from the windows! Our little enclave is truly beautiful. ~ L

  5. Cute play :) I see I am not the only goofy girl today!

  6. Squirrels and woodpeckers! Two species we don’t have here in Australia so very nice to see your images. xx

  7. Very cute! If my puppy saw this though I think she would have a different reaction ;)

  8. Oops! I’m not so sure about that happy ending!

I used to have a redtail that hung around on the luggage rack of a Ford Explorer in the parking lot, keeping an eye on the birds at my feeder. He had a straight shot at that feeder, and the birds knew it. If I glanced out and didn’t see any birds there, I knew to look around for the hawk. ;)

    • Linda,
Those hawks gotta eat, I know this, but it is a stunner when you see it happen. I once looked out my back door to see one dining on one of my little silkys. :(
But, those hawks have their place in the grand scheme, so I just do my best to keep the hens safe. ~ L

  9. That was the perfect bedtime story!! I ought to sleep like a charm tonight!

  10. Love the woodpecker, too. Only thing better is watching the nuthatches walk upside down and sideways in the tree trunks :) Stevie@ruffledfeathersandspilledmilk.com

    • Stevie, As I just told Clair, somehow my approval and my response never got through on WordPress, and I only noticed the problem this morning. Sorry!

  11. Fabulous! and a lovely photo of Woody! I rarely see them, but I do hear them :)

    • Claire, I know I approved these and replied too, but somehow they didn’t come up, and they didn’t show up as still waiting either!!! So sorry, the WP is acting up I guess.
