Photo Friday: Dining Room Edition

I see this every day in my dining room.

Doggy Pinball!

Doggie-PinballNoodle has quite the collection of balls and toys to choose from.

His favorite is the red one, but he collects all of them here under the dining table.

Insatiable, always entertaining, it’s the Noodle!

Noodle-Wear~Today he is sporting his new winter wear I made for him yesterday~

Photo Friday: I love AutoCAD

Wanting to make a quilting design I saw today was frustrating when I realized that the pattern was not available.

So, I started a session in Virtual PC, running a seat of WindowsXP, (*edited see explanation below)  and then cranked up an ancient version of AutoCAD.  With a bit of tutoring from Bob (he works with this stuff all the time)  I had my new Foundation Paper Piecing block!

AutoCADI printed it onto freezer paper.

Now I need to choose my fabrics and get sewing!

*Note:  As the running of the background programs in a PC world is not my thing… Bob has advised me that I was not running DOS, I was running a virtual PC with a “seat of WinXP”.  Clear as mud; Yes?  I have corrected my error in nomenclature above.  😛

Photo Friday: Fog at Sunset

The rain storm that blasted through the south ended in a lovely fall finish.  It had been warm all day and when the rain stopped the fog began.  It was the strangest sunset I have ever seen!

SilhouetteEerie, yet lovely.

PersimmonIntense!

BTW The tree is not a tangerine.  They don’t grow here.  It is a *Fuyu Persimmon and for the first time it was loaded!  YUM!  🙂  Nobody on my street like persimmons but me.  😦

Bonus points if you find the man in the Oak tree.  😉

NOTE:  *I hate persimmons, but make an exception for the Fuyu variety.  You eat them like an apple while still firm!  They can be cooked but I prefer them fresh.  Although, I may have to make an exception this year.  Waste not want not.

Photo Friday: snow day

Bob came in from the cold asking,  “How do you tell the difference between snow and sleet?”

A cursory glance through the window had me claiming that it was sleet.  I went outside and it sounded like sleet.  Hitting the ground you could hear the little rasp as it landed on leaf and dried blade.

Suddenly, I realized that what was on the porch and leaves did not have that characteristic pillow shape of sleet.  It was perfect little snowflakes!  I only wish the cold didn’t make me shake.

Stay in, stay warm, and if you must go out dress warm and drive carefully!
